How I work

Initial Consultation

I believe that the foundation of therapy is based on the relationship we create between you and I and is a core factor in creating therapeutic change. Feeling at ease, safe and accepted by the therapist will allow you to open up and explore whatever issues you are currently facing.

Regardless of having experienced counselling or psychotherapy in the past, the importance of finding the right therapist for you can be a challenging endeavour. It is therefore very important to ensure that there is a good fit.

An initial consultation meeting at my therapy room in South Kensington will provide us with an opportunity to explore what brings you into therapy and identify any results you are looking to achieve. I will ask you a set of questions to learn more about you and to identify the best way forward. Additionally, I will let you know about practicalities such as appointment times, fees, confidentiality and cancellations and address any queries which you may have. This will allow us to determine whether or not I am the right therapist for you.

We decide to work together

We will have one weekly 50 minutes session in person which will take place at an agreed time and day in South Kensington. If required, I offer a second weekly session of 50 minutes for any additional needed support. Again, this will take place at an agreed time and day.

Depending on your needs and requirements I will offer either short- term counselling or open- ended psychotherapy. My work approach is integrative, allowing me the flexibility to use different therapeutic perspectives and techniques as and when required. These range from body therapy, person centred, existential, psychodynamic, relational therapy and mindfulness meditation. The aim is to tailor therapy to your individual and unique requirements which will allow us to initiate the changes you are looking for.

I strongly believe that a safe and non-judgemental space is the foundation for emotional healing. In creating a secure working alliance between you and I, we can explore collaboratively the difficulties you are facing. Together, we can learn how earlier relationships, experiences and behavioural patterns from the past may influence your current challenges. My aim is to help you to become more self-aware and to see things from a different and wider perspective. Together, we can discover new ways of thinking and behaving which can increase your ability to relate to yourself, to others and ultimately can lead to a richer and more fulfilling life.

Online Therapy

I offer online therapy if face to face sessions are not possible for specific reasons. For instance, clients who frequently travel, who live or work too far from my therapy room, or who are homebound may experience this alternative option as beneficial.

The initial consultation session will always be face to face and depending on your needs I will make recommendations whether online sessions would be helpful from the start or only after having had a few face to face sessions in my therapy room. I also offer online sessions in combination with face to face session.
